Gong Xi Fa Chai
Wishing all my friends a Happy Chinese New Year 2008
Hoping for a prosperous Year ahead! This fish snack will do - anything free is welcome!
Here's wishing all those who are celebrating Chinese New Year! Back in the school days when I was in West Malaysia I would hear my teachers say "Selamat Tahun Baru Cina kepada rakan rakan yang berbangsa Tiong Hua". I don't think one can really apply that here in Sarawak as not only the Chinese community celebrate Chinese New Year. The inter-marriages amongst the people of Sarawak makes it difficult to differentiate if you are Chinese or not. This is the case in Sabah also . When I wished my new found Sabahan counterparts a Gong Xi Fa Chai in my recent visit just because their sir name sounded Chinese they kindly informed me that they are not Chinese but they celebrate Chinese New Year. My daughter Shania learns, talk and sing 'Kong Si Kong Si Ni' and wishes me 'Kong Si Kong Si'. So how? So here then I wish all my friends and relatives who are celebrating Chinese New Year A Gong Xi Fa Chai - Ang Pow Mali! Hope you have an Open Blog (like Open House) for this new Year. I visit your blogs and you give me ang pow mah - payable via my Pay Pal or May Bank 2U account.
