New State Secretary

YB Datuk Morshidi Abdul Ghani the new SS

Today marks an important event in the Sarawak Civil Service as YB Datuk Morshidi Abdul Ghani takes over from the former YB Datuk Amar Wilson Baya Dandot as the new Sarawak State Secretary. The handing over ceremony is to be held at the Wisma Bapa Malaysia this Monday morning. YB Datuk Amar Wilson Baya will be the Chief Executive Officer for RECODA (Regional Economic Development Authority) when he retires this month.

The Borneo Post Online reports on 2 August 2009: New State Secretary. The report forgot to include that YB Datuk Morshidi used to be the Director of the State Planning Unit in 2005 after leaving the Ministry of Social Development.

YB Datuk Morshidi Abdul Ghani was instrumental in the coordination of SCORE (Sarawak Corridor of Renewable Energy) Launch in 2007/2008.

The new State Secretary is no stranger to those who have worked with him especially those in the Dewan Bandaraya Kuching Utara, the Ministry of Social Development, the Human Resource Unit of the Chief Minister's Department and finally our State Planning Unit before he rose to become the Deputy State Secretary, and finally the State Secretary. Thus congratulations are in order and I forsee continuity in the State's Development agenda and maybe with some pleasant surprises as I used to be assigned as the Public Relations Officer for SPU under his tenureship ~ a corporate approach which he applied with the Public Affairs and Corporate Affairs Unit. An Honour to Serve.
