DUN Convenes
The Dewan Undangan Negeri (DUN) or State Legislative Assembly convened on 5 May 2008. This could be the last DUN Session held in this historic building as the new DUN building takes shape.

There is nothing much I would like to put up for the Dewan opening as most of the photos have been uploaded into the State Secretary's website. Most of the Dewan's opening and the official dinner for the Dewan's opening are available there. The Debate Sessions and Motion passed in the Dewan is pretty interesting as much as the contents. On my part I dare not make any unnecessary comments as I may say the wrong thing and end up like Raja Petra @ Jail. Gawai is just around the corner and I would like to wallop that Ai Pengayu soon so I must remind myself to hush hush. Don't get me wrong - I am not disinterested in what our learned representatives have to say. I do take notes when arguments are noteworthy but not when the shouting match starts. I appreciate intelligent arguments and I must say the Dewan Speaker (at this point of the DUN Session) have earned the respect of all the members. It is not easy trying to control the Dewan Session and I have to admit he did so in the most challenging environment.
One thing I did notice in the Sessions was that due recognition on the use of Internet and the influence of interactive tools like emails, Short Messaging Services (SMS), websites, forums and blogs were given by some Honourable Members during their debates - though it was not widely reported in the news media. I notice that almost all in the Democratic Action Party (DAP) were equipped or armed with computer notebooks. There were also about two Barisan Nasional Backbenchers who opened up their notebooks. That's a good sign for our politicians as a whole and it augurs well for our quest for E-Government with the hope more will embrace the use of Information Technology. eGov? S'wak BN blogs.. hehehee otw is andychia.com/blog (locally brewed by UK). Err.. it is a little bit more difficult to convince the Dayak politicians. So, better to start with the Chinese politicians who sees the importance of it.
