Empty

Long Distance Reminders & Inspiration

Most of the government officers who are serving with me in Sri Aman do not have their familes with them. I understand the feeling of emptiness that comes once too often since I moved here. But its an oath by government officers to serve wholeheartedly for the good of those in our administration area irregardless of where one is posted ~ so I can't let that distract me. It would be good to let those officers (like me) to experience this challenging moments in the State Administrative machinery. It provides one with a holistic understanding of the various levels of planning, administration and implementing. There are some lucky officers who never get to experience life outside the hometown they serve.

For me, there are reminders on how I depended so much on my parents, missus and daughter to make it through each day.....

You realise you forget how to iron your work clothes properly (coz your wife or mum always do it for you) which I accidently did this morning - I spoilt my ironing board less than 12 hours after buying it

Family pictures at the workplace inspire and power me up through the seconds, minutes and hours here. If need be it can be put up next to the King's & Queen's official potrait in my Office. I know my dad will look superb with his Mr. Sarawak pose.

It's tough to be far from the family. Some guys like it to be 'bujang', some don't, if you know what I mean.

Having them in your thoughts all the time will help you to focus in your career as you know you're working hard for them ... to improve the quality of life of the family.

All the best to you.

p/s: About the ironing, if you malas to iron, send to Mr. Dobi laaa ... or ask the wife to iron for a one or two supply and bring back to Sri Aman ;)

Apa boleh buat...

Before my missus left to take up a posting in Kuching, she ironed all my working shirts/trouser...
now at least she is here for her induction course, so she can iron my clothes,
after that, iron sendiri la...
