Moving On

Transfer Notice

I can't really say how I feel right now as I just recieved my transfer notice. The feeling is mixed as I have served the State Planning Unit for seven yeras and suddenly out of the blue I got a letter saying that I have to report to a new office by the 10th of March 2008. Of course it takes time to sink in and you also realise that in Government Service you are required to abide by the tansfer order. But this is in the middle of the General Elections and there are tonnes of work that needs to be completed.

My transfer Order

In the Government Service you are dutibound to abide by the transfer order - wherever the service requires you. Luckily its just the movement of floors in the same building but then again , the anxiety of knowing that I will be in a new place. But I will take up the challenge - I am after all your obedient servant.

Congrat and good luck! Interesting and challenging work is a top motivator in the workplace. Money is a short-term motivator. Accept the most challenging position and at the same time get the salary increase would be good.

Sdra Desmond,

Tahniah. You are going to learn a lot over there, something university won't be able to teach you. You are going to like and enjoy it too, just think positively. The most important is TRUST ... thats why the job title is Pegawai Tadbir Khas.

This advice come from someone who was sitting there for 4 years 8 months.

I know how it feels man. I've just been "transferred" from KL to Bangkok, without being consulted whatsoever. Sucks when you have "no choice".
