And the Winner Is...

The Winning Team

Firstly before I proceed I wish to congratulate the Top 5 Bloggers of the Malaysian Bloggers Project who won. Congratulations people and carry on blogging. On my part after an extensive stay in Kuala Lumpur with the Sarawak Pavilion Team this Merdeka, I was caught off guard by the Award given to our Sarawak Pavilion team which participated in the 50 years Merdeka Expo at the Putra World Trade Centre from 30 Aug - 2nd September 2007. At this moment, I am speechless. So there.....

The Award for the Best State Government Booth Design

The Bamboo Structure which was used in our booth. We recieved various comments regarding it - good and bad but the judges decision is final

It was truly an exhausting experience but yet meaningful. Its quite different if you are trying to present the real picture of Sarawak to our non Sarawakian visitors. One has to start from history itself to really understand about the State. Words would be meaningless now that the teamwork had been translated into this Award. But most important for us I think is the learning opportunity. The preparations, the discussions and meetings - up the the delivery. I can't put it into words and I certainly do not have the time to celebrate as I have another event coming up which is equally important.

Special thanks to the State Secretary's Office for agreeing to participate in the Expo and also thanks to the Sarawak Muzium and the Ministry of Industrial Development for the extra budget. We were supported by the other various State and Federal agencies which provided their input and also exhibition ideas and materials. Thank you all - your effort and contributions have helped the State Government win this one. Merdeka!
