DUN May 2007

Dewan Undangan Negeri Sitting May 2007

The Dewan Sitting in May 2007 started off with a grand affair with its ceremonial opening ceremony held at the Dewan Undangan Negeri compound at Petra Jaya Kuching. Presently being, playing the role of Sector Head is taking its toll as I cannot be seen scurrying here and there taking snapshots like I used to. Everyone wants to catch up and discuss some relevant topics. Some even asked me when I was getting good angles for my photo shoot - "Are you still doing this?" "Don't you have any staff taking the pictures for you?". Yeah its kinda hard.... Probably I could say "I am a Blogger" and they will avoid me like a plague.... Its something I love doing so probably I will get used to it. But anyway here are some photos of what took place yesterday.

Getting ready for the photo shoot - the opposition are the only ones not wearing the Ceremonial Dress

So I ponder on what that senior officer asked me - "Are you still doing this?" ... Hmmm.... its a tough question. I would think what he meant to say was that since I am being assigned a position higher than I was last time I should behave like 'him' I guess.... rubbing shoulders and look involved in 'meaningful' discussions.... sit down attentively, looking dignified in a high-protocol event like this. No wonder I can never get to become a King. Somehow I think I am gonna get screwed when I go for my promotion interview. Let me see if there are any inspiration I can get from the higher ups - like our YBs for example.

The Opposition at the stairs - and look - what is YB Wong Ho Leng holding.... a digital camera?

Even YB Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri George Chan (partially in the picture) is showing off his digital camera to (from left) YB Francis Hardin, YB Dr. Soon Choon Teck, YB Dato Sri James Masing and YB Dublin Unting

And as YB George shows off that digital camera, we can see YB Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Datuk Amar Alfred Jabu with a much more meaner camera there....its bigger and packs a bigger punch

Anyone noticed that YB Dominic Ng was also holding something - yes its a digital camera!

Someone who does not want to be outdone in the Dewan would have to be YB Voon Lee Shan

So there - I guess I have to thank the YBs for answering my question. Its Leadership by Example and I can tell the person that asked me that question to start ask the YBs - "Are you still doing this?".... he better update himself or upgrade himself or be left behind in the dust of technology. To all the YBs - may wisdom guide you all in this Dewan Session.

thanks for the insights of the DUN session. I have always wondered what they do in a session...I have always pictured grumpy old men sitting just arguing with each other.
